If you are not a fan of free motion quilting, or have tried and not succeeded, walking foot quilting might just be the answer you are looking for.
Transform your Quilts: Explore Walking Foot Quilting
What is a Walking Foot?

A walking foot is a large sewing machine presser foot that is installed on your machine to move your quilt top, batting and backing as one unit. This way, you get less shifting of the quilt layers.
Walking Foot Quilting vs. Free Motion Quilting
Walking foot quilting is synonymous with straight line quilting, however you can quilt curves with a walking foot too.
Free motion quilting is quilting designs of any shape in any direction because you are driving the machine and not the feed dogs on the machine.
Getting Ready For Walking Foot Quilt
Before you get started, you need to install the walking foot on your machine. If one did not come with your machine, you can purchase one made by the manufacturer for your machine. Please do not buy a generic walking foot from Amazon. It may fit your machine and it might work, but it could cause damage to your machine requiring a visit to your sewing machine repair person too.
Decide which pattern(s) you want to quilt into your quilt and do some practice on a spare quilt sandwich. It is best to work out the kinks prior to attempting to quilt on your actual quilt project.
The Best Resource for Walking Foot Quilting
I purchased the Walk and Walk 2.0 books by Jacquie Gering and they are fabulous resources to get you started with walking foot quilting.
My Final Thoughts
I hope you enjoyed Transform your Quilts: Explore Walking Foot Quilting. Walking foot quilting is a great way to quilt your quilt instead of free motion quilting.
