Since it’s November 7th and the end of 2025 is fast approaching, I thought it was time to talk about festive quilts. Let’s look at some fun holiday quilt patterns for all of the December holidays. Let’s go.
All December Holiday Quilts
I believe that all December holidays deserve quilts. First up is Hanukkah.
Hanukkah (December 14-22)

I found this wonderful quilt pattern called Festival of Lights by Sew with Tara Reed.
Yule – The Winter Solstice (December 21)

Meet Alderwood Studio’s Winter Solstice pattern. Although I love her fabric choices, I think the green could be replaced by shades of blue to be more representative of winter and cold.
Christmas (December 25)

Holiday Bouquet is a lovely Christmas quilt without screaming Christmas at you. Looks like a poinsettia to me.
Kwanzaa (December 26-January 1)

While not a quilt, I found this fabulous cushion pattern called Kwanzaa Woven Pillow that you could make multiples of and turn into a quilt.
New Years
If you are looking for a challenge to start your year off, check out the 2026 New Years Mystery Sew Along. It’s free to join, but they also offer kits and fun t-shirts if you’re interested. Might be a good way to start the year off and get your quilting juices flowing.

In addition, I have signed up for The Quilt Show’s 2026 Block of the Month featuring the Game On quilt designed by Becky Goldsmith. They are currently offering a solid and print kit. You do need to be an annual member of their Star Membership to join the BOM. Take a look here.
